Our goal—a world free of MS. Holy Apostles Orthodox Christian Church of Cheyenne formed a team for Walk MS in honor of our beloved friend and parishioner Chris Galeotos and all those who are affected by MS. The walk is an event that brings together a community of passionate people to connect and raise funds to change the world for everyone affected by multiple sclerosis. As a team, we were able to contribute over $2,200 for the MS Society! Walk MS Cheyenne in total raised over $88,000!
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. MS is different for everyone, and that makes it all the more challenging to solve. The first Walk MS event was in 1988, and since then more than $1 billion has been raised for research and programs to improve the lives of people living with MS. Today, there are treatments where there weren't any before, and the dream of ending MS is becoming a reality. But there is still so much to do.
That's why we walk. We set an ambitious goal because we know with support from people like you, we will have a great chance at reaching it. The money raised drives groundbreaking research, provides life-changing programs and guarantees a supportive community for those who need it most.
